At the end of 2011 we were all bombarded with “Year In Review” stories that recapped all the highlights of the year. Whether it was through pictures, video, words, etc. I’m sure we all came across at least one of those stories. But I think it’s safe to say that Virginia rapper Skillz is one of very few artists who puts their “Year In Review” into song format each year.
Listening to Skillz’ “2011 Rap Up” I’m surprised at how much happened this year in the world of entertainment and how much of it I’d like to forget. For example Rebecca Black’s “Friday” and Kim Kardashian attempting to sing and failing miserably at it. Skillz of course also references the more serious moments of 2011 including the Casey Anthony trial and the murder of Osama bin Laden.
